Programs of Study
CGTC offers programs related to four of the six industries that the Commission for a New Georgia identified as needed to keep Georgia competitive in the global economy: aerospace, healthcare, life sciences including biotechnology, and logistics and transportation.
Academy
CGTC Academy is to provide an opportunity for individuals to earn a high school and college credential. Individuals will be provided with opportunities for the actualization of personal and professional success. Academic programs will focus on preparing individuals for sustainable employment in in-demand fields. Individuals will gain skills to become self-sufficient and contributing members of society. The Academy will provide a safe and positive learning environment that promotes academic achievement through non-traditional and blended learning methods while enhancing character development. Individuals will participate in activities and experiences to develop essential employability skills, positive learning perceptions, and self-assessment of learning progress.
Office of Economic Development
CGTC’s Office of Economic Development serves Georgia’s new, expanding, and existing industries through training and developing solutions to the challenges facing Georgia’s businesses. We are especially focused on the development of a skilled workforce that can meet the needs of businesses in the communities that we serve. Customized training is available
Office of Global Initiatives
The Office of Global Initiatives directs the development and implementation of new educational and training partnership opportunities beyond the border of the United States. Created in 2013, the program follows the Technical College System of Georgia’s lead to expand the educational reach of technical colleges beyond Georgia.
Study abroad trips to England, Ireland, and Scotland are available through the office. In addition to for-credit opportunities, the office also hosts students studying from countries as varied as Scotland, Colombia, China, Libya, and Vietnam.
